Three sheds behind a Bay of Islands home caught fire early this morning.

Northern fire communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said emergency services were called to the Moerewa house on Plunket Street about 6am.

The sheds were in a garden behind the property, he said.

Three crews were still at the scene dampening down hotspots.

Mr Phillips said nobody was injured in the blaze and the house was not damaged.

A fire investigator was at the property looking at the cause of the blaze.
