A 12-year-old student is in hospital after being shot by an air gun at a school in the Hawke's Bay.
Police were called to Tamatea Intermediate at 3pm.
Three youths - aged between 16 and 17 have been apprehended as a result.
They are currently being spoken to by police.
The injured boy has been taken to hospital for treatment.
