Search on for woman and child missing near Auckland

Police are concerned for the welfare of a woman and child, missing near Auckland.

Skye Mason, 27, was last seen on Tuhirangi Rd, Makarau, north of Helensville, walking towards the main road, SH16.

She had with her 18-month-old Alyssa Barker, the daughter of the family Ms Mason had been staying with.

Alyssa is described as a stocky child with sandy blond hair and blue eyes.

She was wearing pink and white striped pants, a green and white T shirt and gum boots.

Ms Mason is described as Caucasian, 160cms tall, and of slim to medium build with golden-brown long hair.

She was last seen wearing black addidas pants, a pale blue shirt with dark patterns, gloves, and white addidas shoes.

Police are urgently seeking information from anyone who may have seen the pair walking on SH16 or who may have picked them up.

Anyone who has seen a woman and child matching the description anywhere in the wider Auckland region should also call police.
