Jane Yorke didn't think of her long-missing daughter when a news item about the discovery of a skeleton on a Port Waikato beach flashed across her TV screen last week. She had a crying grandchild to tend to.
But Yorke doesn't need the news to make her think about her daughter Judy, who disappeared from the Bay of Plenty 20 years ago this October.
"She's always on my mind, all the time. I just wait."
The 25-year-old mum of two vanished in October 1992. She was last seen at an orchard party in Matapihi, north of her Te Puke home.
Her body was never found but police suspect she was murdered.
