Access is now open to motorists along Tamaki Drive from the Strand, Parnell and along all side roads extending from it, following the completion of this morning's age-group events in the ITU Triathlon World Cup.

Wynyard Quarter has also reopened following this morning's events, however roads in the central city remain closed for the men's and women's elite event, which starts at midday.

The annual series of triathlon races staged around the world consists of a number of different stages taking place throughout the day in downtown Auckland.

There will be road closures and parking restrictions affecting different streets at different times.

Parts of these streets will all be closed to traffic for much of the day: Quay Street, Queen Street, Customs Street West, Shortland Street, Princes Street, Bowen Avenue, Victoria Street East, Kitchener Street, High Street, Wakefield Street, Mayoral Drive, Victoria Street West, Wellesley Street West and Albert Street.
