Boy, 11, missing in Christchurch

Police are trying to track down an 11-year-old Christchurch boy who has been missing since Saturday.

Mauika Patangata, from the Avonside suburb, was last seen at the Band Together concert in Hagley Park at the weekend, and police said they had concerns for his safety due to his age.

Detective Sergeant Mark Reid told NZPA there had been two reported sightings of the boy today, and anyone with further information was asked to contact police.

Mauika was described as Maori, 1.57m tall, of stocky build, with short dark brown crew-cut hair.

He was believed to be wearing a brown hoodie, black jeans, black and cream coloured shoes and a white beanie.
