Gas leak near Auckland Hospital

The Fire Service has contained a gas leak near Auckland City Hospital.

Emergency services were called to Park Road at 10.30am after a gas main ruptured, northern fire communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said.

The immediate area was evacuated, but the hospital did not need to be cleared, Mr Phillips said.

The leak was now contained and emergency services had left the scene, he said.
