Port watch for child porn accused

Authorities are monitoring ports around Auckland for a man wanted on child porn charges.

Patrick Austin Pike, 39, was due to appear in Manukau District Court yesterday accused of knowingly making objectionable publications, and possessing objectionable material.

He failed to attend and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

A police spokeswoman said Pike had mentioned that he was thinking of leaving the country on a boat, so police have contacted all agencies to stop him.

Police warned that Pike was a danger to the public and should not be approached.
