Manukau residents have a final chance to have their say about what they want to see in their city over the next decade.
Public submissions on Manukau City Council's long term council community plan are now being received.
Several projects outlined in the draft 10-year plan - including
libraries in the city centre and Flat Bush, a ferry terminal in Half Moon Bay and a leisure centre in Flat Bush - have been deferred.
Another project cut from the plan - be deferred beyond this 10-year period - is a culture centre in Flat Bush.
Residents' views are also being sought on a proposal to put $40 million towards development of a white-water rafting facility behind the TestraClear Pacific Events Centre in Manukau City.
The $60 million project - which will include a 380m two-track circuit, a cultural exhibition hall, art gallery, office space and carpark - has been on the drawing board for seven years.
The council has forecast a a $124 million increase in its operating expenditure between this year and 2019, citing factors including price increases, inflation and household growth within the Manukau City region.
A rates increase of up to 3.8 per cent from this year to 2019 is also being proposed, with an extra 1 per cent increase for next year to cover Auckland regional amenities.
Councillors will hear public submissions next month.
The council's policy and activities committee will consider the submissions and recommend a final report before the plan is distributed on June 30.
