A Whangarei teacher has been convicted of committing a sex act on a schoolboy.
A Whangarei District Court jury found Daniel Jaycine Maxwell, 37, guilty of committing an indecent act on a boy, aged between 12 and 16, and not guilty of committing an indecent act on a boy under 12, the Northern Advocate reported.
Maxwell was remanded on bail for sentencing on April 3.
