Prop Mark Tookey's days at the Warriors appear to be numbered after last season's big improver, Richard Villasanti, signed for another two years.
Tookey has been told he will have to work hard to earn another start this season. He has been given the chance to look elsewhere.
That does not mean he will not be offered a contract when his current deal expires at the end of this season, but the club thinks he has a better chance of securing another NRL contract now than he would after spending the rest of the year playing in Bartercard Cup matches.
Weight has been an issue with Tookey and last season he was given strict guidelines limiting him to 117kg, but on two occasions he's been fined for topping that.
Tookey, 27, has played 63 games since his debut with South Queensland (now-defunct) in 1996. Villasanti, 24, is now contracted to the end of the 2006 season.
With Jerry Seuseu leaving at the end of this year, Iafeta Palea'aesina is expected to step up to become a regular starter and Karl Temata, Matt Jobson and Evarn Tuimavave will provide back-up, with the 108kg 19-year-old Kane Ferris the next best prospect.Peter Jessup
