For Whangarei woman Dominique Saylesa prestigious scholarship has allowed her to fulfill her dreams earlier than she ever expected.
The 21-year-old is in China and recently spent her first day interning at an event management company called Riviera Events.
She has always wanted to travel the world but receiving one of the Prime Minister's Scholarships for Asia meant she could do that earlier.
"I read it and I was like 'oh, I actually did get it' and then I was really excited. I was at work at the time so I told some of the co-workers and they were really happy for me.
"I didn't think I was going to get the scholarship so I had to put the internship application on hold. So when I found out, they had to fast process it."
