Whangarei's Camera Obscura project is hoping to raise $25,000 by the end of the month as it "sprints towards" it's first funding application.
Photographer Diane Stoppard, one of the three people behind the project, said the total cost had now been confirmed as $855,000 plus GST.
"We'd always aimed to get 10 per cent cash from the community."
That works out at $96,000. A PledgeMe campaign last year raised $30,000 from the public and another $41,000 has been raised in the year since.
Now, the call is out to raise another $25,000 before the end of the month when the funding application is due.
