Anti-TPP protesters have been welcomed onto Te Tii Marae.
The TPP hikoi, which took part in anti-TPP protests in Auckland yesterday, was welcomed onto the marae along with former Te Tai Tokerau MP Hone Harawira about 10am.
The mood is noisy, but well behaved while the weather is very wet.
Labour Leader Andrew Little is expected to be welcomed onto the marae shortly.
Prime Minister John Key won't be at Waitangi this year after he was told he could not speak about politics in the wharenui, instead being told he could make a political statement in the political tent adjacent to the marae.
