Flashing red and blue lights and a police siren meant little to a Far North woman who drove six kilometres before pulling over.
Houhora police Constable Tracee Knowler posted on her police Facebook page it took "some considerable effort" to stop the driver about 4pm on Sunday.
Ms Knowler said for most of the six kilometres the driver was all over the road.
The woman told the officer she had been driving that road for years and knew the corners where cars were coming the other way.
She allegedly blew 1104 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath - the legal limit for drivers 20 years and over is 400mcg.
