Taking an adult and two young children to the shop to get more supplies for a party has seen a Whangarei mother banned from driving for being over the legal alcohol limit.
Stephanie-Anne Danielle WILLIAMS, 26, appeared in Whangarei District Court for sentencing on a charge of driving with excess breath alcohol after the car she was driving was stopped by police on Bank St at 10.10pm on July 12.
The police summary of facts presented to the court said Williams had another adult in the car and two children.
She was given a test which showed a level of 675 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath. The legal limit is 400mcg.
When spoken to by police, Williams said she was heading to town to get some food for people at the party she had been attending. She was fined $675 and disqualified from driving for six months.
