It was the end of one era and the beginning of another when the Pacific Motor Group moved into its new premises in Whangarei yesterday.
Pacific Motor Group (PMG) proudly boasts a new showroom, office and service building in Porowini Ave after being based at the Town Basin since 1907.
PMG co-owner Roger Taylor said that back in 1907 the company was known as the Whangarei Engineering Company.
It serviced boats from the back of the building, which opened on to a canal that is now where part of Carruth St is, and sold and serviced motor cars from the front.
Mr Taylor said the company later became Hatea Motors, before becoming PMG. He owns the company along with Hamish Sheard.
