Thanks to a new web-based data system, parents and caregivers of young children living in Dargaville will now have internet access to their child's health check records.
The pilot project provides a database of health checks, immunisations, dental checks and other entitlements on every child two years and under currently enrolled at the Dargaville Medical Centre.
The system, to be launched by Leonie McGee from the Ministry Of Social Development, at the Dargaville Early Years Service Hub tomorrow, has been designed to reduce the instances of children missing important health checks.
Parents, caregivers and early childhood service providers will be able to track the status of each child through a secure website using passwords to log on to the system.
"No personal clinical notes are recorded, all that will be seen is whether a check is due, completed, overdue, or declined," said Hub manager Lynette Matthews.
