A mother is in anguish and a community baffled after a 3-year-old died during a dental procedure to fix her teeth.
Daleyza Avila-Hernandez died on Monday in Stockton, California at the Children's Dental Surgery Center while having two teeth removed and two teeth capped.
Pictures taken in the dental office's waiting room show Daleyza looking healthy, vivacious, and full of life.
'When I was in the waiting room, I saw the ambulance. I stood up to see and I thought to myself they are here for a child but never thought it was my child,' the mother told CBS Sacramento.
David Thompson, the administrator at Children's Dental Surgery Center, told Fox affiliate KTVU that during every surgery there is a dentist, an anaesthesiologist, and two assistants present.
