While the South Auckland town of Pukekohe features on all three lists, two of New Zealand's largest cities, Auckland and Hamilton, don't appear at all.
Christchurch made the list for women and Wellington and Dunedin feature for men.
Study participants were asked to rank the extent to which they agree with the sentiment: "I believe that monogamy is essential in a relationship", placing themselves on a scale of 1 (do not agree at all) to 7 (agree completely).
The findings show that Kiwis are strongly in favour of monogamy with the average result for women at 6.1, and men at 5.3.

According to EliteSingles' in-house psychologist, Salama Marine, the findings indicate those looking for a monogamous relationship shouldn't feel disheartened.
"The study demonstrates that there are actually still plenty of people out there who do value monogamy and want to build a lasting and loving relationship.''
Marine also advises that if you value monogamy, you shouldn't be afraid to discuss it with your love interest.
"The biggest sign of romantic incompatibility is if you and the person you're seeing have different expectations from the relationship. It is therefore important to ask yourself whether you're looking for something serious or casual, and to find out if your partner wants the same things. And, to avoid getting hurt, it's best to have this conversation early on."
