From cows to ciaos

By Celeste Gorrell Anstiss

Hot off the catwalks of New York, Matamata teen Emily Baker is strutting her stuff at Milan Fashion Week.

The 178cm tall 17-year-old modelled for the who's who of fashion in New York, including Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors.

She was also the first and last model on the catwalk for Oscar de la Renta.

Meanwhile, proud dad Glen Baker, a builder, was packing for Italy and preparing to see his daughter for the first time in months.

Baker chaperoned his daughter around Milan, New York, London and Paris this year for the spring season of shows.

"I'd be backstage at every show, but I'm just a Kiwi bloke ... I know nothing about fashion, I don't even know the names," he said.
