A man was found dead near a motorbike on a Central Hawke's Bay farm yesterday following a suspected medical event.
Police and emergency services provided medical attention after the discovery at 5am yesterday, but the man in his 50s died at the scene.
Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter general manager Ian Wilmot said the rescue service was called to the scene at the same time but the man was deceased on arrival.
A police spokesperson said the incident was understood to be a medical event and police referred to it as a sudden death.
The death was referred to WorkSafe and will be referred to the coroner.
Last month Michael Francis Taylor, 44, a Hawke's Bay Regional Council senior resource technician was killed on a rural farm in Ashley Clinton after a vehicle he was travelling in left a farm track and rolled.
In his funeral notice Mr Taylor's family paid tribute to him as their dearly loved husband, father, stepfather, son, brother, son-in-law and brother-in-law.
They asked that in lieu of flowers donations could be made to the New Zealand Forest and Bird Society.
WorkSafe New Zealand was also notified of this incident and had made inquiries into the death.
In November a person died after their motorcycle hit a pole on a farm on Foley Rd, Papatawa.
WorkSafe was notified and attended the scene but did not investigate because it was not a work-related incident.
