As a bookshop owner, Gareth Ward spends his days surrounded by books.
Now one of those books not only has his name on it, but has not one, not two, but three awards attached to it.
Ward, aka The Great Wardini, has many feathers to his cap, including being a magician, hypnotist, storyteller, owner with his wife Louise of Wardini Books, and now a published author.
The Traitor and the Thief has recently been announced as a Storylines Notable Book 2018, and on Saturday won a Sir Julius Vogel award for Best Youth Fiction, with the man behind the words recognised with a Sir Julius Vogel Award for Best New Talent.
The manuscript for The Traitor and the Thief won the 2016 Storylines Tessa Duder Award, which came with a publishing contract from Walker Books.
