Unbelievable, outstanding, fantastic, the best ever were just some of the accolades for Dannevirke's record-breaking Christmas parade on Saturday.

"It's brilliant, neat fun, but so hot," Dannevirke EvaReady Cheery Chicz Red Hatters said as they joined 53 other entrants in the parade.

While excitment was high amongst the hundreds of children lining the parade route and on floats, for one senior Dannevirke resident the parade was very special.

"I've had to wait until I was 88 to be in the parade and I loved it," a delighted Norma Evans said.

The number of entries and the extremely high calibre of floats put pressure on the three judges, with the prize-winning entries announced tonight at a special Chamber of Commerce function.
