Willis Legal practice manager in Napier Murray Warrington said the firm had been supporters of the appeal for nearly 20 years and as part of the whole overall community liked to do something for that community.
"Put something back into it — help people."
Mr Warrington said the company had also been supportive of many other community issues and groups.
"A whole heap of things," was how he put it.
"We enjoy doing it."
Doing their bit for Christmas Cheer a team of Napier City Council staff will be out and about with their annual street appeal this Friday.
In 2015 shoppers and strollers in the CBD delivered a $547 boost to the appeal through the collection, and last year that figure surged to $746.
The donations have shown that when it comes to helping make Christmas a more special time for many who are finding the going a little tough members of the community are keen to step up.
The Christmas Cheer Appeal runs through until December 20.
It has grown through more than three decades to become a valuable provider of cheer for more than 3000 people across the twin city communities.
Cash, gifts for all ages, and non-perishable foodstuffs can be dropped off at the donation points.
