The campaign is running alongside their 'Just Us Girls' initiative, which was about getting women together to hold an event such as a movie night, games night or pamper evening.
Ms McArthur said this was a very local campaign with people helping the cancer society through supporting the local food scene.
This was one reason Off The Track in Havelock North jumped on board.
Owner Rob Hulman said they wanted to support the foundation so they could help local families who were battling cancer.
"It is such a good cause and with the money staying locally you know you're doing your bit to help."
The restaurant has put on an extensive set menu with staple favourites including chicken, steak and fish dishes.
"We put the food out on the table and people will be in for a good time and night."
Owner of Valley D'vine and part owner of The Cat Bistro, Greg Miller, said this was something different and they were thrilled to be able to help a good cause.
"We have got a set menu at Valley D'vine which features breads, lamb, pork belly, duck, fish, shrimp cocktail and tasty deserts."
Mr Miller said the restaurant provided people with the opportunity to sit back and relax while enjoying a dining experience in support of a worthy cause.
Ms McArthur said the restaurants involved currently included Lonestar, The Gin Trap, Indigo Restaurant, The National Greek Café, Valley D'vine, Shani's Family Eatery, The Cat Bistro, The Food Store Canteen, Off the Track and Deliciosa.
When making bookings people need to tell the restaurants they are Dining for a Cause in advance.
"We want to make this an annual thing, as it is something different to what other charities are doing and everyone gets to have an enjoyable night out."
If people don't want to dine out then money can be donated via the Everyday Hero website: justusgirls2017.everydayhero.com/nz/DineforacauseHB.
