Hawke's Bay returned to its sunny best yesterday as mothers from across the region were pampered.
Despite some rain and gusty winds on Friday and Saturday, as Cyclone Donna met with a low, the weather gods put on a show for Mother's Day.
Birdwoods Gallery and Sweet Shop owner Louise Stobart said they were flat out yesterday with families enjoying some lunch in and around the sculpture garden.
"We were so grateful for the weather and all the mums who came in got pampered with some green ginger wine liquor and some other special treats. It was a really good day."
Marathon runners who came from far and wide were also able to relax in some Hawke's Bay sunshine yesterday.
