Tukituki Labour candidate Anna Lorck has added some political firepower to her campaign with the addition of long-standing Labour MP Annette King to her campaign team.
Mrs King recently stepped down from Labour's deputy leadership to make way for new deputy leader Jacinda Ardern, and after this political term will retire following more than 30 years in Parliament.
She was a great supporter of Ms Lorck, who had a good chance of winning the Tukituki electorate, she said.
"She reminds me of me when I was her age starting out in politics - she has a real passion and commitment to the community and wants to be a local MP - she doesn't care about being on the party list and I believe she can win this seat."
In Craig Foss, Mrs King said Tukituki had a nice enough bloke, but he was pretty quiet and more interested in Cabinet and the big issues rather than the local ones.
