The college had staged its annual carol service, with those attending asked to contribute a food item to the appeal.
"They really get behind it," Mrs Reyngoud said.
"It's lovely to see that sort of support."
She said as it had been in past years the entire trailer deck was covered in bags and boxes of items.
"Every year since I started doing this we have had the trailer come in."
The food items will help make up the Hastings side of gift parcels, and with the Napier ones that equals about 850 of them - assisting around 3000 people.
The cash fund got a great little boost in Napier with the "retired blokes, spinning spokes" having a bit of a collection.
They are the Recycled Rebels Napier, a group of keen cyclists of mature years.
They were planning to have a bit of a luncheon gathering but decided instead to do their bit for the appeal and gathered together their planned tucker money - $310 of it.
The Rotary Club of Napier, Charlie Hill and Napier City councillor Larry Dallimore and his wife Sue also made great donations to boost the cash fund nicely.
Napier council staff will be out and about today running a street appeal and will be popping up in Emerson St, Dickens St, Dalton St and Hastings St during the day.
The gifts and goodies have continued to pop up under the Christmas trees at the drop-off points.
A lady popped into the Napier office of Hawke's Bay Today with a bag of great kids' books and a bag of wooden toys as well as bracelets and ornaments.
The appeal, which has been running annually for more than 30 years, is set to wrap up on December 21.
