Argyll East School student Jet Hapuku's artwork is set to be seen by millions after being named a finalist in the Doodle 4 Google competition.
Selected from more than 7000 entries from students across New Zealand, he is one of just 20 finalists vying for their version of the internet company's doodle to be shown on its homepage for a day and $10,000 worth of technology equipment for their school.
This year's theme was "If I could travel back in time I would ..."
Eight-year-old Jet replied: "If I could travel back in time I would travel to where the dinosaurs were 65 million years ago. When I was little I was really into dinosaurs. The G has a bunch of scales on it. The E is a stegosaurus. In the background there is a volcano and other dinosaurs."
The next stage of the competition is a public vote. Jet is in the Year 1 to Year 3 category.
