A magnitude 5.7 quake has struck the central North Island this morning and was felt in Hawke's Bay.
GeoNet said the 152km-deep earthquake struck 25km southeast of Tokoroa at 6.47am, which was of light intensity.
Workers in Wellington city offices also felt the shaking. Social media users in Petone and as far away as Gisborne also reported feeling the quake at roughly the same time. In Hawke's Bay, the quake was felt by people in Taradale, Havelock North and Waipukarau, among other areas.
