More than 250 riders have already signed up for the Turfrey Tour de Beautiful Cycle Challenge in Central Hawke's Bay this weekend.
Organised by Cycling CHB, the event is in its 22nd year and caters for all levels of ability, from experienced riders to children.
Cycling CHB's Tim Mackie says registrations are still open for the event which starts at 9am on Sunday morning from CHB College on Svenson Road in Waipukurau.
Local cycling legends Regan and Westley Gough, who regularly compete in the tour, will be absent this year with Regan Gough competing in the World Cup track event in Colombia and Westley Gough in track camp at Cambridge. Fraser Gough, however, will be in the Ruahine Ford 100km race.
Mr Mackie said a strong contingent from the Hawke's Bay-based Ramblers Cycling Club would take part alongside locals and visitors from outside the region.
