A Napier woman yesterday helped police catch two burglars in a street that has been hit eight times in the past week.
Gemma Coverdale, whose own home on Flanders Ave had been broken into twice on consecutive Mondays, said she spotted the offenders from her lounge scouting the area for potential targets at about 9am.
"Two guys were dressed really dodgy, big saggy clothes, hoodies and backpacks. One was texting and the other was pacing up and down really anxiously. I just had this horrible feeling," she said.
"I rang the police and said they should check these guys out but by the time police had arrived they had gone and I wasn't sure which direction."
The 26-year-old part time student said it was her curiosity that inevitably lead to the arrests of the two men she described as being in their late 20s.
