Wine lovers have started the countdown for the 24th Hawke's Bay Wine Auction to be held this weekend.
The annual auction celebrates a group of talented winemakers, coming together to flaunt the fruits of their hard labour on a national and international stage.
The evening will showcase some spectacular Hawke's Bay wines that you won't find on shelves anywhere else.
Event manager Annabel Tapley-Smith said, on average, the auction has annually raised more than $100,000 and Cranford Hospice has significantly benefited.
The Wine Writers of New Zealand group will descend on Hawke's Bay tomorrow for the three-day packed itinerary concluding with the grand finale of the wine auction event.
Ms Tapley-Smith was delighted with the quality of wines for the 2015 auction.
Some of the finest wines on offer at the auction will include a 56l quarter barrique of Ngatarawa's 2014 Syrah, a half-barrique of 2014 Cabernet Franc from Mission Estate and Rod McDonald has offered a rare octer-barrique of his 2014 Syrah.
The auction will be held on Saturday November 14 from 2.30pm at the Hawke's Bay Opera House Plaza.
