Hamilton's population of pooches will soon have more places to play in the city.
The Strategy and Policy Committee recommended changes to the Hamilton Dog Control Policy and Bylaw yesterday that support the Council's goal for Hamilton to be a more dog-friendly city.
Changes allow the Council to create off-leash dog exercise areas in Aberfoyle Park, Chelmsford Park, Hamilton Lake Domain, Te Kooti Park, Templeview Reserve and Waiwherowhero Park.
After considering public feedback, the Committee opted against making Hammond Park an off-leash area.
In addition, the revised bylaw and policy clarifies the rules around owning multiple dogs.
