(Shock)
Review: Russell Baillie
Having already hoisted their annoying Eurodisco single Blue (da ba dee) in the charts of most of the pop world, the Italian trio follow with a whole excruciating album.
It's all seemingly based on variations of that puny dance hit, complete with copious use of reedy vocodered vocals on songs with titles like (yes!) Move Your Body and Now Is Forever. All 13 tracks pulse - well, vibrate slightly - with AA battery-powered synthesisers and spectacularly feeble beats.
All this and a ditty entitled My Console, which does the Y-M-C-A trick with the spelling of "PlayStation" - maybe the Italian word for "jingle" and "single" may be one and the same. It certainly explains why E65 aren't signed to Sony.
As fascinatingly terrible as a crass foreign game-show (one which might use something from here as a theme), Eiffel 65 are one awful earful. Complete and utter Eurocrock and probably a hit already.
