Carter Wilkerson is just a high school kid looking for a year of free chicken nuggets but now he's caught the attention of Ellen DeGeneres and Bradley Cooper.
On April 5, the 16-year-old Nevada student asked fast food restaurant Wendy's how many retweets he'd need to score a year of free nuggets and they told him an impossible 18 million.
Little did Wilkerson know that less than two weeks later he'd have the second most retweeted tweet of all time with 2.9 million retweets at the time of writing.
The only tweet ahead of his is DeGeneres and Cooper's star-studded selfie they took at the 2014 Oscars, but Wilkerson is rapidly closing the gap - and the two celebrities are terrified.
Since realising they're about to be knocked off the number one spot, DeGeneres and Cooper have used The Ellen Show to issue a public service announcement for assistance.
"We need your help," DeGeneres starts.
"Ellen and I are dangerously close to losing our title for the most retweeted tweet of all time," says Cooper.
"This nugget kid needs your help to reach his goal but we need your help more," Ellen adds.
The two then reveal what they sacrificed to take the selfie that currently holds the record at 3.3 million retweets.
"We put our heart and our soul into that selfie. I had to hold my arms up for like 35-40 seconds, my biceps were shaking," Cooper says.
"And I was sitting on Meryl Streep's lap for an uncomfortably long time," the talk show host admits.
"We earned this title and we're not gonna lose it now Please retweet our selfie. Do it today and be a part of history," they implore the viewers.
"To show how much we need your help, Bradley is going to rub my shoulders," DeGeneres adds - and, of course, he does it.
Ellen's Friday monologue also implored her viewers and Wilkerson to keep her in the number one spot.
"This boy is on my heels," she told the audience.
"Carter you need to stop it right now. You mess with the bull, you get the horns. I'm angry," DeGeneres warned him.
Since posting the video, Ellen has re-pinned the famous photo to the top of her Twitter feed.
Decide for yourself who you want to hold the record for the most retweeted tweet of all time - a boy yearning for a year of free nuggets or a selfie that forced Bradley Cooper to hold his arms up for 40 seconds.
And, even if Wilkerson doesn't reach the 18 million retweets, Wendy's has still pledged a donation of US $100,000 to adoption charity Dave Thomas Foundation, if or when Carter breaks Ellen's record.
