This is the actor's second foray into the superhero world, having played Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four.

His role in Black Panther is still unknown, but he will appear alongside Chadwick Boseman who will top-line the film, and potentially Lupita Nyong'o, who is in negotiations to come on board.

The film will be headed by Creed director Ryan Coogler, marking the third time he and Jordan have worked together - the first time on Fruitvale Station.

Jordan is also developing a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair along with Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo.

Black Panther is set for release in February 2018. Production is expected to start early next year.
