50 Cent posed with fake money to boost his reputation.
The Candy Shop hitmaker - who filed for bankruptcy last July - defended a number of his social media postings in a court submission filed on Tuesday (08.03.16), insisting the images were not indicative of his actual wealth and wereonly posted to promote EFFEN Vodka and his music.
According to the Wall Street Journal, he stated in the filing: "As a hip-hop artist and entertainer, it is imperative that I continue to project aspirational goals of success in order to preserve my brand and those I represent.
"What I say and what I do on social media has a direct impact on my music sales and the viewership on my television shows."
The money used in several pictures - including one where the rapper spelled out the word Broke using the notes - are said to be prop dollars used for music videos and photo shoots.
The filing came after a judge previously stated the 40-year-old star's online presence made her "concerned about allegations of nondisclosure and a lack of transparency."
As well as defending his fake cash, 50 - whose real name is Curtis Jackson - also filed a debt-repayment plan, which will aim to pay out $23 million over the next five years, for the judge to approve.
