The Nikelodeon Kids' Choice Awards have revealed prominent Kiwi sporting heroes Kayla Cullen and Richie McCaw could be in for a messy night.
Famous for covering celebrities in thick green slime, the awards highlight favourite New Zealand and Australian stars, as chosen by children.
Silver Fern netballer Kayla Cullen comes up against All Black rugby legend Richie McCaw in the Favourite Sports Star category.
The duo also compete against Aussie surfer Mick Fanning and soccer great Tim Cahill, with the winner decided by a vote.
Cullen took to Instagram to share her surprise and excitement at being the only woman nominated in that particular section.
"Soooo this just happened ...Can't believe I'm one of the nominees and the only female in this category ???? ( like is this even real)," she wrote.
"I would love to take home an orange Blimp."
