Portland-based Kiwi act Unknown Mortal Orchestra has been named the number one most blogged about act in the world for 2015.
Global music blog aggregator, Hypemachine, has released its "Zeitgest 2015" list, which ranks the top 50 most blogged artists of the year.
Not only are Unknown Mortal Orchestra the
only New Zealand act on the list, they are right at the top, ahead of acts like Foals, The Weeknd, Major Lazer, Drake, Disclosure, Jamie xx, and Tame Impala.
UMO is the project of ex-Mint Chick Ruban Nielson, and they've had an impressive year, releasing third album Multi-love to great critical acclaim across the US and Europe, and spending most of the last six months touring the world non-stop.
They've also just returned to New Zealand this week, performing one of the best shows of the year at the St James Theatre in Auckland last Saturday (see the review here), and playing their final show at Bodega in Wellington tonight.
