Kylie Jenner has come under fire for pictures she has posted to her Instagram account which people are claiming show her with "blackface".
Jenner posted the pictures from a recent shoot, which appear to show her with some sort of dark, iridescent make-up painted on her face. Her hair also seems to be multicoloured in the shots.
"What I wish I looked like all the time," she initially captioned one of the pictures.
However, many people vented their anger on social media account described the look as "blackface".
"did i really just wake up to kylie jenner doing blackface......," @motherjohnmisty tweeted.
"how is kylie jenner dumb enough to do blackface, post it on IG, with the caption "what i wish i looked like all the time" i need sit down," @osc--ar tweeted.
Another star, actress Zendaya Coleman, also became embroiled in the controversy as she initially showed her support of the photos with a clapping-hand emoji.
But it didn't take long for Coleman to take back her initial support of the photos.
"At first, I saw more of an avatar look but thank y'all for keepin me on point....we all gotta stay aware of what image we project #lessons," Coleman tweeted.
Meanwhile, Jenner responded to the accusations and said how she looked in the pictures was just down to lighting.
"This is a black light and neon lights. People lets all calm down," Jenner posted, alongside her photos.
Some people have spoke out about it all being a bit of an overreaction.
"Kylie Jenner put a photoshoot photo on insta of metallic silver makeup & people are calling it blackface LOL bye w/ the world 2day," @PatriciaCxo tweeted.
"this Kylie Jenner "blackface" thing is one of the biggest overreactions I've seen ever in life," @zee-xcx tweeted.
However, others weren't happy with her explanation."@KylieJenner your skin is dark and you're not dark. it's blackface disguised as your "fantasy to be covered in glitter." glitter isn't black," @rachelboooooo tweeted.
