Veteran radio presenter Wallace Chapman will be taking over as the new host for Radio New Zealand's Sunday Morning show, replacing Chris Laidlaw, who is retiring from the position.

Laidlaw will host his final show tomorrow, RNZ communications manager John Barr said.

Chapman had previously been a breakfast host at Auckland's 95bFM and KiwiFM and a presenter on talk station Radio Live.

He was also the presenter of the former TVNZ7 pub politics show Back Benches.

Chapman will take up the role early in the New Year.
