Jay-Z caused a minor furore on Twitter with a question-and-answer session with fans in which he admitted he was a Miley Cyrus fan.

The rapper's 12th studio album Magna Carta ... Holy Grail was released this week, and on the song Somewhere In America he giggles while rapping the line, "Somewhere in America, Miley Cyrus is still twerking ... twerk Miley, Miley twerk".

When a fan asked Jay-Z on Twitter if "twerking should replace the electric slide at weddings," Jay-Z responded: "Personally??? YES.. Miley is a GOD."

Cyrus responded to the tweet herself, saying: "Call it what you want. But I don't see Mr. Carter shoutin any of you b****es out. #twerkmileytwerk."

Jay-Z also owned up to his favourite cereal, Cap'n Crunch, and said he considered his 1996 album Reasonable Doubt to be his best work. the Daily Mail reported.

When asked what he'd learned from his time in the music industry, he responded with this: "Run when people say 'Worldwide smash'."

Jay-Z also said he no longer had 99 problems, because he had "#newrules new problems".
