Pop star Jason Derulo is coming back to New Zealand - but he won't be performing for his hysterical fans.

The singer, who had a worldwide No. 1 hit with Whatcha Say that is currently sitting on 106 million YouTube views, will be in Auckland on October 21 to promote the release of his new album Future History.

He was last here in November 2010 for a concert at Auckland's Logan Campbell Centre.

Despite only having one album to his name, Herald reviewer Jacqueline Smith praised his performance and said Derulo's constantly shrieking fans proved they had had a good night.

Derulo will be meeting fans and signing autographs at JB Hi-Fi's Queen Street store from 12pm.
