A German couple say they were threatened by a man wielding a screwdriver during a road-rage incident in Dunedin yesterday.
A police spokeswoman said a 27-year-old Dunedin man was arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour likely to cause violence.
Tourist Patrick Schutz, 28, said he and his partner Anja Timpe, 23, were subjected to a barrage of abuse after the driver of a car travelling behind their van on Portobello Rd decided they were driving too slowly.
"We were driving maybe a little bit slow and the car behind was following very close.
"Overtaking was very risky but he did it anyway."
