Police investigating the murder of Palmerston North mother and daughter Christine and Amber Lundy are seeking a further car seen near their house about the time of the killings.
Mrs Lundy and her daughter were found bludgeoned to death in a bedroom of their Karamea Cres home on August 30.
Police said last week that they had checked nearly all the cars seen in and around Karamea Cres near the time of the deaths.
But Detective Mark Painter said yesterday that a further vehicle seen in the street that day was now being sought.
About 7.25 am on the day of the killings an early model Toyota Corolla or Mitsubishi Lancer four-door vehicle had been parked outside 30 Karamea Cres.
Detective Painter said the vehicle was painted white with black trim running along both sides.
It had mag wheels, which were quite distinctive because they had spokes similar to bicycle wheels. The car was angle-parked on the road and had its rear passenger door open.
Detective Painter said it was gone by 7.45 am.
Detectives from Gisborne, Hastings and Wanganui who have been working on the case have returned home, but 25 police are still investigating the deaths.
Detective Pinter said that number included two Wellington-based detectives, who were to return home at the end of the week.
