Police yesterday arrested four anti-nuclear protesters who chained themselves to an empty nuclear waste cask on a ship at Sydney's Botany Bay.
Water police forcibly removed the Greenpeace campaigners, who used bicycle chains to attach themselves to the empty container and railing on the Berlin Express at Brotherson Dock.
They were arrested for breaching the peace, but no charges will be laid.
The three men and one woman wanted to stop the cask being unloaded. They draped banners over the ship and delivered a letter to the captain demanding that the container be sent back to France.
The protest coincided with a Senate inquiry into the federal Government's decision to enter a contract to build a new reactor in Sydney at a cost of $A500 million ($630 million).
