It must have been the acting, because presumably he'd seen the rest before.
Veteran rocker Mick Jagger was spotted at Monday night's performance of The Graduate, which starred his ex-wife, Texan model Jerry Hall, in the role of Mrs Robinson, the cynical middle-aged seducer of the title character.
Only, unlike the scene played by Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman, London theatregoers aren't fobbed off with a glimpse of stocking.
In the play, Hall, aged 43, strips off to put a more explicit emphasis on the relationship. Monday was Hall's premiere in - and out of - Mrs Robinson's shoes. Up to now it was Kathleen Turner, aged 45, in the bare-all characterisation.
Despite a bitter tussle over their divorce, Hall has said she and Jagger remain close and that it was he who helped her to study her lines.
The preparation didn't stop there, of course. Hall also took acting and speech coaching for the part. And some severe physical exercise.
That apparently paid off for at least one spectator, who was jumped on by security guards for taking a photo just as Hall flashed open a towel - the only thing she was wearing for the scene.
Strictly enforcing the no-photo edict for the play, the man was made to hand over the film.
For Jagger, seeing his ex in the flesh was an enjoyable experience. "She was good, eh?" he exclaimed at the end of the show.

Charlton Heston spent three weeks in an alcohol rehabilitation programme recently after his social drinking got out of hand, said his publicist.
"He thought he needed to take care of something that could possibly become a problem," said Lisa DeMatteo. "He's back at work, taking care of himself and feeling great."
The actor and National Rifle Association president checked into a facility in Utah from late-May to mid-June, DeMatteo said.
The star of The Ten Commandments, Ben-Hur and Planet of the Apes had never been in rehab before.
"I think it was overwork. He keeps a horrendous travel schedule and he's 76 years old," DeMatteo said.
"He's campaigning, he works for the NRA, he's been doing all this stuff and, you know how it is, you go to these dinners and they give you a rubber chicken and food that's not really edible and you have a little bit too much wine."
Heston declined a request for an interview. He is back on a hectic schedule of speaking engagements and is completing work on a film, Town and Country, an ensemble comedy with Warren Beatty and Diane Keaton.
He's also finishing work on a non-fiction book about his political views.

Looks like the notoriously fickle Julia Roberts, who dumped ex-fiance Kiefer Sutherland just three days before their planned 1991 wedding, might be cooling on her present beau Benjamin Bratt.
New York magazine reports that the Law & Order stud has yet to visit Roberts on the set of The Mexican, the film she's shooting with the newlywed Brad Pitt and The Sopranos' star James Gandolfini.
Roberts rebuffed his attempts to head south of the border after he wrapped his own upcoming movie, Miss Congeniality, in Texas.
"At this point they haven't seen each other in months," a source told the magazine. "It's not necessarily over but it's certainly hit a crisis point."
