If you already despise your company for forcing you to supply your own coffee and milk, you had better stop reading now or prepare for your loathing to increase tenfold.
US web development company Basecamp has taken work perks to the next level, with its employee benefits some of the best in the world.
In addition to generous salaries and time-off policies, healthcare plans, and retirement savings plan-matching, employees are blessed with a plethora of added benefits including a shortened four-day, 32-hour week during the summer months.
Other employee benefits include receiving A$6600 ($6860) payment for annual leave, A$130 per month for both fresh produce and massages at home, 16 weeks paid parental leave and tenured sabbaticals every three years.
Basecamp chief executive Jason Fried said the Chicago, Illinois company has no board of directors and only 50 staff, which is why it is able to give such impressive benefits.
"We do what we want to do, and we make quick calls," he told Business Insider.
Fried said the tech company is always looking to offer more benefits.
"I'd love to continue to give more and more things to make people happier and more comfortable," he said. "I'm just running out of ideas for it."
To help with new ideas, Fried allows employees to raise new concepts in an internal document, with staff voting on what they would like to see implemented.
"Basically, if people ask for something that's reasonable, we give it to them," he said.
Since the company was established in 1999, it has managed to maintain most of its staff and Fried hopes this trend will continue.
"It's really about distancing yourself from this trend of being always on, always working."
